style=\"flex-basis:58.3%\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A leading European manufacturer of <strong>industrial packaging machinery<\/strong>\u2014with whom <strong>Giconmes<\/strong> had previously developed a <a href=\"https:\/\/giconmes.es\/en\/success-stories\/design-and-fabrication-of-a-clean-superheated-steam-skid-for-a-packaging-machine\/\">superheated clean steam skid for a thermoforming line used to package processed cheese<\/a>\u2014contacted us again regarding a new project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this case, the machine to be equipped had a <strong>higher production capacity<\/strong> and, consequently, a <strong>greater steam demand than that of the previously supplied system<\/strong>. The customer had estimated a <strong>steam<\/strong> requirement of <strong>12 kg\/h<\/strong> and specifically requested that the system be sized with a safety margin to ensure a stable supply even during peak cycles of the packaging machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The requirements set forth were as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A steam flow rate of at least 12 kg\/h, with sufficient power reserve to handle demand peaks without pressure fluctuations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Since the steam comes into direct contact with the packaged product, it was necessary to ensure that the steam was of food-grade quality, free of particles and carryover.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Superheated steam to prevent condensation inside the packaging and maintain hygienic and sanitary conditions throughout the process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stainless steel construction for both the steam generator and the superheater\u2014a requirement the customer identified as a priority due to the humid environment and intensive cleaning routines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An independent water treatment system that ensures consistent feedwater quality and protects the equipment&#8217;s service life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Condensate recovery tank and return valve, integrating the return from the machine to optimize the system\u2019s energy efficiency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dedicated electrical panel to centralize system protection and control and simplify connection to the factory\u2019s electrical system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mounted on a skid, with all components interconnected and factory-assembled, replicating the architecture of the previous project to facilitate the manufacturer\u2019s internal standardization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:64px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide are-vertically-aligned-center mb-0 has-body-main-color has-primary-20-background-color has-text-color has-background is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center dnone-tablet is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:4.3%\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div style=\"height:72px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer dnone-tablet\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-h6 has-secondary-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\">Solution Provided<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading text-h4\">Steam solution developed ad hoc by Giconmes<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center dnone-tablet is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:8.3%\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignwide\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide has-body-main-color has-primary-20-background-color has-text-color has-background is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-top dnone-tablet is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:4.3%\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-top is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Proposed solution:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Building on the architecture already validated in the previous project, <strong>Giconmes\u2019<\/strong> technical team scaled up the system to meet the new process requirements using a <strong>22 kW NGV-3022<\/strong> electric steam generator, with a production capacity of <strong>up to 30 kg\/h<\/strong> and an operating range <strong>between 0.3 and 7 bar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This sizing places the system&#8217;s operating point at approximately <strong>40% of its<\/strong> installed <strong>capacity<\/strong>, compared to the required 12 kg\/h. Far from being an unnecessary oversize, this is a deliberate decision: <strong>the power reserve allows the system to absorb demand peaks during each packaging cycle without pressure fluctuations<\/strong> and ensures a wide and stable control margin. Contributing to this is the <strong>dual-heater<\/strong> configuration (15 + 7 kW), which allows the equipment to operate in stages and adjust power consumption to the process\u2019s actual demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All components <strong>in contact with water<\/strong> and steam were manufactured from <strong>AISI 304 stainless steel<\/strong>, including the outer casing, in accordance with the customer\u2019s top priority of having an entirely stainless-steel unit suitable for humid environments and intensive cleaning routines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The steam superheating issue was resolved using a <strong>GI-6000 SS OVERHEATER,<\/strong> manufactured entirely\u2014finned tubes, fittings, and casing\u2014from AISI 304 stainless steel. It operates by steam lamination as the steam passes through the unit and allows the outlet temperature to be regulated between 100 and 300 \u00b0C via a thermostat, preventing condensation inside the container and maintaining the hygienic and sanitary conditions of the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To ensure the culinary quality of the steam that comes into direct contact with the product, the system incorporates a<strong> 5-micron particle filter<\/strong>, supplemented by a <strong>water treatment system that <\/strong>reduces the total hardness of the feedwater to acceptable levels, thereby extending the boiler\u2019s service life and ensuring the purity of the steam generated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The system was completed with an <strong>80-liter DRC0083 condensate recovery tank<\/strong> made of AISI 304 stainless steel, equipped with a level controller, solenoid valve, and thermostat, which allows for the return and reuse of condensate from the machine, optimizing the system\u2019s energy efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Integration with the Filling Machine<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the key aspects of the project was the <strong>electrical and signal integration with the customer\u2019s machine<\/strong>, achieved through a specific set of components:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>4-20 mA transmitter for analog transmission of the process signal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Return valve for managing condensate flow to the skid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact relay that signals to the filling machine that the generator is running.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relay indicating activation of the safety pressure switch.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visual and audible indicator with standard operating and alarm signals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete update of drawings and electrical schematics in accordance with the new configuration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Skid-Mounted Assembly<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All components\u2014generator, superheater, water treatment system, filtration system, condensate tank, and control elements\u2014were <strong>interconnected and assembled at the factory on a single skid platform<\/strong>, delivered ready for connection. This configuration follows the standard established in the previous project, allowing the manufacturer to replicate the solution in future lines without the need for redesign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Regulatory Compliance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The generator was manufactured in accordance with the <strong>Pressure Equipment Directive 2014\/68\/EU (PED CE)<\/strong>, transposed by Royal Decree 709\/2015 and subject to Royal Decree 809\/2021. The pressure vessel was designed and manufactured in accordance with UNE-EN 13445, with quality certificates that ensure the traceability of the steel for a minimum of ten years. The quality of the feedwater complies with the requirements of UNE-EN 12952-12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The result is a compact, hygienic, and fully integrated system capable of continuously and consistently supplying clean, superheated steam throughout the entire packaging cycle, with the level of stainless steel finish required for food-contact applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:32px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Technology
