Desinfected / Pasteurized soils and substrates
Commission Regulation (EU) No. 1146/2014 limits and prohibits in some cases the use of Methyl Bromide (BM) -already used in the disinfection of soils and substrates – as a consequence of the agreements reached worldwide that are included in the Montreal Protocol. The United Nations demands a gradual reduction of the production of the BM to the manufacturers, simultaneously encouraging the investigation of new technologies that allow the use of alternative systems.
